This year marked a very special time for the history of the Screamin' 5K. This year we set race records for number of registrants, number of sponsors, money raised, and prizes donated. The weather was cold. The weather was wet. Nothing could slow us (or you!) down, however. We saw some incredibly fast times by men and women of all age groups, including the fastest time ever recorded by a female runner and second fastest time ever recorded by a male runner.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this year's race one for the history books! We look forward to posting again soon with final fundraising numbers, photos, and official results. Until then, rest up, warm up, and start planning your costume for next year's race!

It is wet. It is cold. BUT THE RACE IS ON! The weather is crappy but our spirits are high. Come on out and LET'S HAVE A RACE!

Race day is quickly approaching. Here are a few things you need to know:

1. Ther race starts at 8am sharp on Saturday, October 29th. Check in starts at 7am.
2. There is no packet pick-up before Saturday.
3. The race is on...rain or shine. If we have to cancel due to lightning, it will be announced Saturday at 6am.
4. Make plans to hang out after the race. We'll be giving away TONS of prizes to race winners and randomly selected participants.

With a week to go before the big day, we have already recieved more registrations than any year before! This is shaping up to be a really fun and exciting event. We look forward to seeing you!

The Screamin' 5K consists of runners and walkers from all skill levels and all age groups. We've seen seasoned veterans and people participating in their first ever competitive race. We've added a fun and exciting new feature to the Screamin' 5K website. If you look over to the left, you'll see our first "Screamin' Spotlight" interview. Every few weeks, we are going to highlight a friend of the Screamin' 5K. It might be a runner, a volunteer, or in this case, a sponsor. We'll try to ask them fun questions so that you can learn a little more about the people behind the race.

The Screamin 5K is a run/walk event designed for people of all skill levels and all ages to have fun and help raise money for the Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. Each year, the race is held on the Saturday before Halloween. We encourage all of our runners, walkers, volunteers, and supporters to wear a costume for this exciting and fun-filled event!

Over the year's the Screamin' 5K has hosted over 400 runners and walkers, given away over 200 prizes, organized with over 75 volunteers and donated more than $10,000 to the Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. We hope you'll take part in this year's race and be a part of something great!
